Baby Development - 4 months
Your Baby’s 4th Month:
The Beginnings of Speech
The random sounds and gurgles will begin to become more deliberate this
month. You will find your baby responding to your voice by cooing or mimicking
sounds like dada or baba. Encourage this development by talking and reading
to your baby frequently.
Grasping For Objects
The batting for toys will quickly turn into reaching and grasping this month.
Make sure to keep items that are not baby-friendly out of her reach.
Solid Foods
Between the fourth and six month, you can begin feeding your baby solid
foods. A baby, who is ready for solid food, should be able to hold her head
steady. Most babies begin by eating rice cereal or pureed fruits and vegetables.
Consult with your baby’s pediatrician on specific nutritional advice
for your baby.
